about
i've been creating art for over 50 years — discovering pathways to express myself and the world we live in. short of my family, it's the longest relationship i've been a part of. like any relationship, there's an ebb and flow to it.
from the time i was young, my bond with my art has been both leading and following. and at times, feeling like i was ready to just move on and away from it. in time the connection grew, strengthened, and became like a mirror to myself. i feel like i'm just getting started.
my work is primarily in drawing and painting. i explore other mediums as the inspiration hits. with a background in advertising and graphic design, i approach image making through line-making gestures, color and shapes.
my work is both figurative and abstract, and i rely on all my work to inform each piece. mostly self-taught, i draw inspiration from my life — creating a dialogue between myself and what i learn in the ever-evolving process.
i'm the youngest of six children, born in chicago to immigrant parents from poland who met in england after wwii and came to the us to start a better life. i'm a single dad to two boys — pablo, 20, and lucas, 17.
